The money rolled in. For three dogs, Eva made thirty dollars a walk. That was ninety dollars a day. Each walk took an hour. She was amazed how many people would pay to get their dog walked.

Eva knew she would never have a dog. But if she did have a dog, she would walk it herself. The dogs got so excited when she came to get them. It was the best part of their day. To have a dog and not walk it yourself just seemed dumb.

She was out with the dogs when a text came from Carmen.

“How u doing?”

Eva texted back. “K. Hey! I have idea.”

“??” Carmen texted.

Eva looked at Dee Dee. She was so big. But she was also a wimp. Other dogs made her shake with fear. Even little ones. At first, it was funny. Then it stopped being funny. A scared Great Dane was hard to walk.

“Can we get extra $ for big dogs?”

Carmen texted right back. “Define big.”

Eva’s thumbs flew on her phone. “Dee Dee is BIG!!!!”

But she had to stop texting. Swaps and the chow started barking and pulling. Dee Dee tried to hide behind Eva. Then Eva saw why. Down the street was someone else with dogs. Three of them. They were barking too. Uh-oh. The last thing she wanted was a dog fight.
